Upskill your employees
What is an Apprenticeship?
Hiring an apprentice gives your business the opportunity to shape and nurture the next generation of leaders and staff. Not only do you get the chance to give a kickstart to someone’s career, but you play a massive part in teaching that person the right way to do things for your business. An apprentice is an investment in your future workforce.
Providing a quality service
How apprenticeships work for you?
From the outset, we communicate with you to find out exactly what your organisational requirements are, then find the best fit for the business and an individual who will bring value to the role instantly.
We want to engage with you
We will meet you in the first instance to find out exactly what your business needs from an apprentice. We engage with you directly to ensure you receive all the information you need.
We will source high quality candidates that not only meet your organisational needs, but have the best personality fit and abilities to contribute to your office dynamics.
Not only will we induct the apprentice, but we will offer ongoing support to both your business and the learner. We hold regular one-to-one sessions with our apprentices to ensure they are on the right track.
Delivery is important
We are versatile in our approach to teaching as we know every business has different needs, so we offer both academy-style support on a weekly basis, as well as distance-learning in the form of webinars.
The apprenticeship levy
Introduced in 2017, the apprenticeship levy is payable by any business with an annual payroll bill over £3 million. If your business pays into the levy but you don’t understand how this helps you, then get in touch with us today. We can advise on how the levy is spent for maximum impact on your workforce, or even let you know how you can share your levy with other businesses.
If you’re a non-levy payer, fear not! You are entitled to funding up to 95% of an apprenticeship (and sometimes, this can be 100%). Get in touch for advice from one of our experts.
The apprenticeship levy requires all employers operating in the UK, with a pay bill over £3 million each year, to make an investment in apprenticeships. You can benefit from this investment by training apprentices for new recruits and existing team members that require training.
The apprenticeship levy offers employers the opportunity to review their long term recruitment retention and succession plan strategies and work with the GBS team to create bespoke apprenticeship programmes that not only creates a development and career path for existing staff but offers opportunities for new team members.
Employers who pay the apprenticeship levy and have unused apprenticeship funds can find employers who want to receive a transfer in a number of ways. From April 2019, levy-paying employers can transfer a maximum amount of 25% of their annual funds. They can make transfers from their apprenticeship account to as many employers as they choose. GBS can support you in doing this too.
