The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
We’re delighted to announce GBS are now a Kickstart Gateway for those businesses who are looking to recruit under the Kickstart scheme. The Kickstart scheme provides a grant to employers who create job placements for 16-24 year old.
The grant will cover:
• 100% of the National Minimum Wage for the recruits age group, for up to 25 hours per week
• any associated employer National Insurance contributions
• employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions for the pension scheme
If you’re creating fewer than 30 job placements, a Kickstart Gateway, such as GBS, can act on your behalf and apply for a Kickstart Scheme grant for you.
Employers who take part in the scheme can also receive up to £1,500 towards training costs and equipment. GBS can share our expertise with you to help you onboard and train young people employed through the scheme, for example supporting those with particular disadvantages or working in certain sectors. Additionally GBS can provide employability support directly to young people employed through the scheme, helping to utilise the £1,500 funding.
